This is an unfinished project car with a clean California title. It was built to pass California smog inspection and was engineered with all smog equipment from a late ’90s Mustang 5.0. The car does NOT yet run and drive.
The build was originally began by the owner of a well known Datsun Z car specialist shop in Richmond which is now closed. The owner built this car to exceptional standards and it shows. The craftsmanship on this car is top notch. Unfortunately, he did not complete the car. I purchased it over 10 years ago and got distracted with other projects. It needs some finishing work.
The body is super straight and rust free. The car has never been repainted since it left Japan. The primer work was done at the same time the gas filler door was shaved and the hatch and inner trunk area were painted. The gas filler was relocated to behind the license plate. Customized fiberglass front air dams and BRE spoiler. NOS Nissan hood with flush mounted louvers. Early Z bumpers which have been de-chromed and some of the trim holes have been filled thus far.
It has a brand new Powerdyne supercharger, new T5 transmission, aluminum flywheel, hydraulic clutch release setup and full Aeromotive fuel system with dual Tsunami pumps, all custom anodized AN fittings, custom center mounted aluminum fuel tank and beautiful stainless hardline fuel lines on the frame rails. The engine is an early 1980s 302 from a 20th Anniversary GT. It has a full Ford EECIV fuel injection system and ECU. The front three crossmembers were extensively modified for the new radiator, engine, and transmission.
It has four wheel disc brakes, new Tokico strut inserts and lowering springs, aftermarket front and rear sway bars and lots of new suspension from Nissan. It has a R200 rear end. Custom true dual exhaust with black ceramic coated short headers and stainless catalytic H-pipe. Full mandrel bent and TIG welded 2.5″ exhaust with stainless mufflers. It has a custom aluminum radiator and beautiful sheet metal work on the radiator shroud and other components under the hood and throughout the car. The car is setup for air conditioning and needs two short lines to complete the system.
Beautiful black interior, with a mix of new and good original parts. Very nice genuine Recaro seats. The dash is perfect, and the console is new as well. New carpeting with full Dynamat up to the rear bulkhead. Lots of custom work inside, including the very trick rear battery box and relay and ECU setup under the dash.
The mods list and attributes of this car go on and on. I would love to finish the car but I have too many car projects right now and this one has sat for too long. Needs some finishing work and paint to be a stunning weekend car.
Price includes some spare parts which go with the car.
Asking $12000 or best offer. Not interested in trades, as I have too many cars already.
I will consider selling as a roller, without the Ford power train, for a negotiable price.
